Upmanu Lall Receives Inaugural Alan and Carol Silberstein Chair

Professor Upmanu Lall is the first recipient of the Alan and Carol Silberstein Chair, established by EEE alum Alan Silberstein in spring 2005. This endowed professorship was inaugurated with a mini-symposium on Earth Day 2005, titled "Engineering for a Better World." Professor Lall joined EEE in 2000 and served as department chair from 2003 to 2006. He has been an integral part of EEE’s transformation into an environmental engineering program focused on critical and emerging 21st-century problems.
