Kartik Chandran Nominated to the Board of Directors of NYWEA

Kartik Chandran, Assistant Professor of Earth and Environmental Engineering has been nominated to the Board of Directors of the New York State Water Environment Association (NYWEA), Metropolitan Chapter. NYWEA is the State Body of the National Water Environment Federation where Professor Chandran also serves on the Executive Research Subcommittee.
As a board member, Dr. Chandran has been invited to form a student chapter for NYWEA at Columbia. One of his highest priorities is to have Columbia become a center for excellence in water and health issues in the State of New York by maximizing student involvement. The Columbia student chapter of NYWEA will enable student participation on water and health-related activities at the state and national levels. More importantly, it will open up conference, co-op and job opportunities for Columbia students on state-wide and national levels.
